About the food

Traditional Macedonian cuisine, and in general Western Balkan cuisine, is combination of authentic, orient and European food. Fresh delicious salads, varieties of bread and pies coming directly from an old furnace, ayvar, pindzur, tavce-gravce (baked beans), vegetables stew, sarma, musaka, stuffed peppers, garlic pasta, grilled mushrooms and peppers, grilled sheep cheese, all that combined with inevitable homemade wine and traditional alcoholic drink rakia is something that you will feel long after you leave the Balkans.
