Photo tour – Macedonia

Arrival at the airport in Skopje. Transfer to a hotel in Skopje (20 km). Lunch in a national restaurant at Matka canyon. After that, you can visit canyon Matka with the artificial lake Treska and the cave Vrelo. The nature is breathtaking, maybe the most popular natural attraction in Macedonia. You will have free time for photo shooting. We are leaving Matka and we will be driving towards the hotel in Kumanovo (60 km). Accommodation. Next sightseeing, before sunrise is the megalithic observatory Kokino (55 km), the fourth oldest (3800 years old) and most important in the World, ranked by NASA. We will come back in Kumanovo for dinner in a local restaurant. Overnight.

Breakfast at the hotel. We have the option to go again to Kokino for morning photo shooting or to go directly to Kuklica (65 km). We will visit the site Kuklica (15 km), where you can see the stone dolls. We continue towards Kratovo (15 km), a medieval town with many old towers and bridges. Lunch in a local restaurant. Next sightseeing is Stobi (115 km), the biggest ancient Macedonian city. Then we will visit Demir Kapija (30 km) and the Winery Popova Kula. Dinner with wine tasting. Overnight.

Breakfast at the hotel. We will be driving to Prilep (85 km) and there visit Marko’s Towers. Lunch in a national restaurant in Prilep. After that we will go to Bitola (40 km) and visit the ancient Macedonian city, Heraclea. We will walk through the most famous Macedonian street – Shirok sokak. The city is known for its Turkish style bazaar where you can buy everything from fruit and vegetables and parts for vehicles. Having this amazing atmosphere hustle and bustle, people shopping, mix of all kinds of smells and colors - it looks like the perfect place! Then, we are going outside of Bitola, to accommodate in a hotel on the mount Baba or in the centre of Bitola. Chance for strolling through the national park – Pelister. Dinner at the hotel. Overnight.

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the shores of Lake Prespa (65km) in the early morning. Then, we go by boat to the island Big City, which is in the middle of the lake Prespa. The island is the habitat of many species of birds - pelicans, cormorants, and white and gray herons. Birds found their shelter on this desert island. From the boat you can capture with your cameras a phenomenal photos of hunting pelicans, which glide over the water looking for fish. On this island, the habitat of cormorants and herons can still be approached. Lunch in the village Konjsko. In the afternoon, we come back in Bitola (65 km), where we rest after the long day. Dinner at the hotel. Overnight.

Breakfast at the hotel and check out. We will drive through the National Park Galichica and stop for photo shooting. After that, we will visit the settlement St. Naum. In the monastery still stands the tomb of St. Naum - a student of Cyril and Methodius, and according the legend, you can still listen to his heartbeat. Lunch in a restaurant in the St. Naum area. Afterwards, we will visit the Bay of Bones / Museum on water. Accommodation in a hotel in Ohrid. Free afternoon. Dinner in a hotel. Overnight.

Breakfast at the hotel. Ohrid itself is a jewel of Macedonia, the city with the most Orthodox and Catholic churches and in history dating back over 3.000 years it's narrow alleys. Located at the foot of the mountain Galicica is the Ohrid Lake. Both the city and the lake are inscribed on the UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage list. In the morning, walk through the streets of Ohrid to reach the highest point - Samuil's Fortress, which offers wonderful landscapes of the whole area. Lunch in a restaurant. Transfer to Skopje (160 km). Free afternoon in the capital. Dinner in a restaurant. Chance for nighttime photo-shooting in the center of Skopje. Overnight.

Breakafast at the hotel. You will have panoramic and walking tour (Kale – Skopje Fortress, Old Turkish Bazaar, Museum of Macedonian struggle, Stonebridge, Monument and fountain of Alexander the Great, House of Mother Teresa). Transfer from hotel to the airport in Skopje for your return flight.
