Day 1 Tivat airport – Kotor (8 km) (D)
Our driver will pick you up at the Tivat airport and give you a ride to your hotel accommodation in Kotor. After the check-in, you will have free time to relax and explore the Old Town on your own. Welcome dinner in a restaurant. Overnight.
Day 2 Kotor - Perast - Our Lady of the Rocks - Tivat - Budva – Kotor (105 km) (B)
After breakfast, our guide will pick you up and show you the Old Town Kotor, taking you through the cozy streets of this UNESCO-protected World Heritage Site. You will pass over the Squares of Arms with its Clock Tower and palaces. You will also admire in front of (or optionally visit) the oldest Catholic Church in Montenegro dedicated to the Saint Tryphon. Other attractions on this short walking tour are the Maritime Square and Orthodox churches, such as Saint Lukas and Nicholas, Cats Square and more. Our tour guide will also tell stories that show the harmony between the different religions and the old daily routine of Kotor citizens.
After Kotor, we continue in direction of Our Lady of the Rocks (15 km). Panoramic ride through Boka bay surroundings will take us to Perast - one of the best-preserved baroque settlements on the Mediterranean. After a short walk through the city center, we will take an easy 5 minutes boat ride to the artificial island - Our Lady of the Rocks, famous for its beauty and interesting stories and legends.
After the tour in Kotor and Perast, we would go in the direction of Tivat (25 km) and we will visit Porto Montenegro - the biggest yachting marine and most modern tourist village. After a stop for refreshments, we will proceed towards Budva (25 km).
We will do the Budva walking tour. We will start the tour with a walk to the popular city viewpoint at the Ballerina Monument in the direction of Mogren beach. Passing through the Land Gate, we will see the Poets' Square, unusual entrance ways that will take you directly to the sea. We will continue to see the biggest city square, famous for its churches that are standing beside each other. We will come across the Roman Catholic Cathedral dedicated to Saint John and the Orthodox Church of Saint Trinity from 1804. The tour will take you to the small church, Saint Sava, an abbot from the 12th century and the Benedictine monastery of Saint Maria in Punta from the year 840. We will pass next to the Budva Citadel and Ancient Necropolis, and take a walk along the sunny marina.
After the Budva Old Town walking tour, we will go in the direction of the famous isle and one of the most popular tourist attractions in Montenegro - Saint Stephan Island (10 km) where we will have the chance to walk around its surrounding. We will visit Queen’s and King’s Beach, and enjoy this beautiful environment. It is also possible to have a lunch break here. Back to the accommodation in Kotor (30 km) and free time. Overnight.
Day 3 Kotor - Serpentine road - Lovcen mountain and mausoleum - Cetinje – Kotor (60 km) (B, L)
Breakfast and start of the tour to Lovcen Mountain following the famous 25 serpentine old roads that used to connect Kotor with the Lovcen and Cetinje region. Switchbacks will take us to one of the amazing viewpoints, postcard-worthy, which gives you a bird-perspective of Boka Bay. After the stop for a photoshoot, we will proceed to the zone of the highest Lovcen peaks and if the group desires we will spend 1 hour in the visit of the famous cultural attraction in Montenegro - the mausoleum dedicated to the famous old leader and poet Petar II Petrovich Njegosh. There are 460 stairs to climb so you can reach the peak where the mausoleum is, still, it is worthy as there you will enjoy its beauty and a great story with 360 degrees view on Montenegro.
As soon as we arrive at Ivanova Korita, we will see the most popular natural surroundings of the Lovcen National park and its small settlement.
We will continue in direction of Cetinje, where we will go on a walking tour. Your guide will take you through the historical parts of Cetinje where you will visit its most important monuments, beautiful parks and charming promenades. You will see the famous Blue Palace and many old embassies. You will get to see the ruins of the old Cetinje Monastery from the 15th century and the 19th-century Cipuri church before we come to the Monastery of Cetinje, which was rebuilt at the beginning of the 18th century and even today it is the center of the Montenegro Orthodox Church. You will see the Biljarda Castle, the monument dedicated to Ivan Crnojevich, King Nicolas Palace, and many others.
After the visit to Cetinje, we will have lunch at a local honey farm, enjoying their domestic cuisine and unusual interior. We finish our journey back to Kotor. Free time. Overnight.
Day 4 Kotor - Pavlova Side-Rijeka Crnojevica - Ostrog Monastery - Zabljak (225 km) (B)
After breakfast, we check out from the accommodation in Kotor and we go in direction of the Skadar Lake, to the famous fishing village Rijeka Crnojevica (65 km). On the way to Rijeka Crnojevica, our guests will have the chance to stop at Pavlova side for a photo break - one of the most famous viewpoints of Skadar Lake and Montenegro in general. It has been listed in popular travel and destination magazines as one of the most spectacular views in the world. Then the ride will take us to Rijeka Crnojevica. This town is famed in Montenegrin history as one of the medieval capitals and important places and known today as one of the favorite holiday places of the Montenegro citizens.
After the short stop for sightseeing, we will continue in direction of the Ostrog Monastery (65 km).
When we arrive at the Monastery Ostrog complex, we will first visit the Lower Monastery and the Holy Trinity Church from 1824. Then, we will take off to the Upper Monastery. Bear in mind that we will need to park the car and walk uphill for 5 minutes to the Upper Monastery. When we arrive at the Upper Monastery you will hear many stories and see the coffin with the remains of St. Basil, the most important saint in the Montenegro Orthodoxy.
After the lunch break somewhere in the area, we will finish our journey in the direction of our accommodation in Zabljak (95 km). Overnight.
Day 5Zabljak - Biogradska Gora - Moraca River Canyon - Moraca Monastery – Podgorica (180 km) (B, L)
After breakfast, we check out and leave in direction of Black Lake (2 km). Here you will have one memorable trekking experience. You will visit the most beautiful and biggest of the Durmitor 18 glacial lakes - the Black Lake. The trail that will take you around the lake, and the environment around it covered with the pine forest, makes this place one of the top destinations in Montenegro for nature lovers.
We then proceed in direction of Biogradska Gora (83 km). On our way, we will make a short stop to visit the monumental bridge on Djurdjevica Tara and enjoy the Tara river deep canyon (one of the deepest in the world). We then arrive at Biogradska Gora National Park with its very popular tourist attraction, Biogradsko Lake, and one of the oldest virgin forests in Europe. We will take a stroll around the lake with loads of picture-worth moments to capture its breathtaking beauty.
Further, we will have lunch in one of the traditional restaurants near the city of Kolasin (25 km), before continuing our journey towards Podgorica (70 km). On our way to Podgorica, optionally we will stop and visit the community of Moraca Monastery hailing from the 13th century. This is one of the oldest and most beautiful monastery settlements in the region. Arrival in Podgorica and check-in. Free time. Overnight.
Day 6 Podgorica - Virpazar - Lake Skadar boat ride – Podgorica (70 km) (B, L)
After breakfast, we will drive in the direction of Virpazar (30 km), a small fishing village on the Skadar Lake. After the short visit to the village and sightseeing, we would start a one and half hour boat ride through the National Park Skadar Lake.
We will enjoy its channel and open zone full of beautiful panoramas, stories, and if we are lucky you will see some rare types of birds, as there are more than 260 species in this national park. If the weather condition allows, you may also swim. You will enjoy the most beautiful parts of the National park - Skadar Lake (20 km) and hear the story of its flora, fauna, and how important it is not only as a natural resort but also for the history of Montenegro. Regarding refreshments, our host on the boat will serve us with delicious home-made donuts and drinks (wine, rakija-brandy or juices).
After the ride, we will visit one of the local wineries around the Skadar Lake, where we will have traditional lunch from this area and try a few different varieties of wine.
Back to the accommodation in Podgorica (20 km). Overnight.
Day 7 Podgorica - Bar - Ulcinj - Ada Bojana – Podgorica (155 km) (B, L)
After breakfast, we start a one-hour journey towards the city of Bar (50 km), where we will begin the tour of St. Jovan Vladimir's temple. Optionally, we can take a 15-20-minute walk and sightseeing at a beautiful promenade next to the city beach.
We will then drive in direction of the Old Town Bar. The tour in Old Town will take us approximately one hour. With your spare time, you can make the most of it by enjoying a cup of coffee and taking in the beautiful Adriatic sun at any of the beautiful coffee shops nearby.
As soon as we leave the Old Town Bar, we will then head to visit the Old Olive Tree on our way to Ulcinj (25 km). It is a UNESCO-protected natural heritage of Montenegro, whose age is estimated at approximately 2.400 years, making it the oldest in Europe. On the 30 minute ride in Ulcinj, we will enjoy a great panoramic view.
When we arrive in Ulcinj our guests will be amazed by the both medieval and modern times' stories about the Old Town Ulcinj. One of them includes the story of the famous writer Miguel de Cervantes and his captivity in Old Town. You will see Balsica Tower, Slave Market, and palaces from the Venetian period. After the walking tour, you will have some leisure time for shopping, coffee, food or enjoy at some of the restaurants on the River Bojana. Drive back to Podgorica (80 km). Free time. Overnight.
Day 8Podgorica - Tivat airport (85 km) (B)
After breakfast, we check out from the accommodation in Podgorica and drive in direction of the Tivat airport stopping by for rest and possibly lunch.
